Iyama Still Holds His Sextuple Crown!

  Iyama won Oza title, defeating Cho U 9-dan pro by 3-1. The fourth game of the 61th Oza (best of five games) was played in Izu on 2 December 2013. Iyama (B) beats Cho U by resignation after 221 moves.
  Iyama still keeps his Sextuple Crown: Kisei, Meijin, Honinbo, Tengen, Oza and Gosei
  Cho U could not win any tournament in 2013, which happened to him for the first time in 12 years since 2002.

The full results of the series are given as follows:
  -Game 1 (24 October): Iyama (W) won by resignation
  -Game 2 (19 November): Iyama (B) won by resignation
  -Game 3 (21 November): Cho U (B) won by resignation
  -Game 4 (2 December): Iyama (B) won by resignation

Iyama Defends Tengen

  Iyama Yuta won three consecutive Tengen title.
  The third game of the 39th Tengen title match (best of five games) was held in Saga prefecture on 28th November 2013. Taking white, Iyama defeated Akiyama Jiro 9-dan pro after 176 moves.
  Akiyama missed the chance to get his first seven-major title.

  -Game 2 (28 October): Iyama (B) won by resignation
  -Game 3 (28 November): Iyama (W) won by resignation

Aoki to challenge for Women’s Kisei!

  Aoki Kikuyo becomes the challenger to Hsieh Yi Min for Women's Kisei title.
  In the play-off to decide the challenger to Hsieh, held at the Ryusei studio of Igo-Shogi Channel on 16 December 2013, Aoki (W) defeats Ishii Akane 2-dan pro by resignation after 256 moves. She will play for a return match against Hsieh Yi Min for Women's Kisei title match.
  They will play against each other for Women’s Kisei title match for the third consecutive year since 2012.
  The first game of the 17th Women's Kisei title match (three-match series) will be held in Hiratsuka city on 23 January 2014.

  -Game 2: 30 January 2014 Igo Shogi Channel Ryusei Studio in Tokyo

The 2nd Densei Tournament: Pro vs. Computer

  Please be informed that The 2nd Densei tournament will be held at the University of Electro-Communications in spring 2014.
  This tournament is very unique because a famous pro will play two games against two of strongest computer programs at the tournament. In the 2nd Densei tournament, Yoda Norimoto 9p will play against computer programs.
