|Names for the parts of the Go board|
|This is the official Go board, the 19x19 board.|
|It is a grid of 19 vertical and 19 horizontal
lines, making a total of 361 intersections.
There's a theory that in ancient China it was used as a calendar.
|The nine black spots on the board are called
the star points.
The centre one has a special name, tengen, meaning the centre point.
|The areas near the star points are called, respectively, the corners, sides, and centre.|
|The area in the top right (facing the board) is called the 'top right corner'.|
